In order to avoid any further problems, you will need to do the following:
  1. Contact one of our sites nearest to you (find under Contact menu) by phone or personally. (Our colleague will inform you about the documents necessary for deregistration and about our opening hours.)
  2. Bring/have the vehicle transported to our site.
  3. We check and compare the vehicle data with the vehicle's registration card (VIN, engine number, etc.)
  4. We take photos of the vehicle from all sides, under the bonnet, as well as the engine number and VIN.
  5. We make photocopies of the personal documents of the owner or the authorised person (Identity Card, Home Address Registration Card, Tax ID card, the vehicle's Registration Card, Registration Certificate, authorisation - in case of legal persons, a Certificate of Incorporation and a Specimen of Signature are required). Download the authorisation form here »
  6. The person authorised with deregistering will complete an agreement.
  7. If NKH approves all documents, we issue a Certificate on Vehicle Handover for Wrecking, based on the accreditation and online approval of NKH.
  8. The Certificate on Vehicle Handover for Wrecking is taken to the Vehicle Documents Unit of the Township Documents Office, with the license plate and documents (Registration Card, Registration Certificate) of the vehicle, where the vehicle will be deregistered. (In some cases, additional charges by the local government may apply!)

The documents we need for the issuing of the Certificate on Vehicle Handover for Wrecking are the following:
  • • Identity Card, Home Address Registration Card and Tax ID Card of the owner registered in the registration certificate.
    • If the deregistration is not carried out by the owner, we need an official authorisation in two copies (forms available from our sites) and the authorised person's ID Card, Home Address Registration Card and Tax ID card.
  • Original copies of the vehicle's Registration Card and Registration Certificate.
    • If the Registration Certificate is not available, a justification on the registration shall be obtained from the Vehicle Documents Unit of the Township Documents Office.

In case of the deregistration of an inherited vehicle (succession) or in other special cases, please contact our colleagues for further information.
